Marshal Information

JLT MSA Marshal of the Year
This has been awarded to Andrew Holley, who has become firmly established as a trusted and valued Examining Post Chief, at his ‘home’ circuits of Oulton Park and Anglesey Circuit, or any other of the many UK venues at which he marshals.

A highlight of Holley’s marshaling career has been taking responsibility for – and transforming radically – the British Motor Racing Marshals Club North Region’s training programme, in his capacity as its Regional Training Manager. He is a highly valued member of the BMRMC’s North Region Committee, and part of the MSA International Training Team.

The panel would also like to commend jointly Denis Arundell and Brian Wilson, who have shown dedication to – and passion for – marshalling over many years. They volunteer at well over 30 events per year in Northern Ireland and more elsewhere in the UK and Ireland. The judges felt that their excellence and professionalism are an inspiration to others.

This award is designed to reward excellence among the 12,000-strong team of MSA-registered volunteer marshals, without whom motor sport could not take place.

Marshals’ Database
The MSA will update its marshals’ database this year, 2011 and will thereafter do so on an annual basis. Currently, those registered remain on the database indefinitely, so many who are not actively marshalling are still receiving communications and information from the MSA.

New registration documents will be sent out later this year, and all who wish to be registered on the database will be asked to renew for 2012, even if they registered as recently as 2011

The MSA licensing department will then send out personal registration and record cards after processing the renewals. All marshals should receive these documents by the end of the year, with annual renewals in the future being completed via the MSA website.
